The participation of the Macedonian delegation at the meeting to mark the 80th anniversary of the creation of the AFZ

December 6-7, 2022, Bosanski Petrovac and Bihac

The regional event to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of AFZ was initiated by feminist collectives from the area of former Yugoslavia. The event was organized by the Women's Platform for the Development of Serbia, with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (regional offices in Sarajevo and Belgrade). As part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of AFJ, more than 100 delegates from all former republics and provinces gathered: activists, descendants, contemporary, AFJ members, partisans, scientists, politicians of social democratic parties and left-wing movements, journalists and other women with social engagement. The commemoration was organized through two events, the Ceremonial Academy in Bosanski Petrovac and the Conference in Bihać, thematically dedicated to the memory and contemporary practices of women's struggle against fascism, and related to the history of the AFZ.

The Macedonian delegation was composed of 10 participants: Savka Todorovska, Ena Bendevska, Jana Kocevska, Salia Bekir Halim - civil activists for women's rights, Cvetanka Ivanova, Sonja Mirakovska, Sanaela Shkrielj, Ana Andova - parliamentarians, Elena Jovanova-Grujovska - vice president of the Main Board of SBM from NOAVM and Ivana Hadzievska - historian. Ivana Hadzievska gave a presentation at the Solemn Academy. All female delegates took an active part in the conference, in sessions related to the women's movement in Yugoslavia in the past and today, as well as the need to build a broad regional women's anti-fascist platform in the present.
